Who we are
Abyss is a pre-launch Chrome extension that helps you write and track personalized cold emails. It is operated by an individual based in the United States. If you have any questions, email us at legal@helloabyss.com.
What we collect
- Waitlist email address. When you submit the waitlist form on our landing page, we store your email address so we can notify you when Abyss is available. That is the only piece of personal information we actively collect right now.
- Basic analytics. We may collect anonymous, aggregated data about page visits (e.g. which country traffic comes from, which browser is used). This never includes anything that identifies you personally.
The Chrome extension and Gmail
Abyss requests a Gmail compose-only permission. Here is exactly what that means:
- ✓ We can open a new Gmail compose window and pre-fill it with a draft.
- ✗ We never read your inbox, sent mail, or any existing emails.
- ✗ We never store the content of any email you write.
- ✗ We never send an email on your behalf without you clicking Send yourself.
You remain in full control. The only thing Abyss does is hand you a ready-to-review draft — the rest is up to you.
How we use your information
- To send you a launch notification when Abyss opens up.
- To improve the product based on anonymous usage patterns.
- To respond to support requests you send us directly.
We do not sell your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party — ever. We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Third-party services
We may use third-party tools (such as an email service provider to deliver waitlist notifications). These providers only receive what they need to perform their service and are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.
Payments
Abyss does not collect any payments at this time. No credit card or billing information is requested or stored.
Data retention
We keep your email address until Abyss launches or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. To request deletion, email us at legal@helloabyss.com and we will remove your information within 7 days.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to access, correct, or delete the personal data we hold about you. Just email us and we will respond promptly.
Changes to this policy
If we make a meaningful change to this policy, we will update the date at the top and — if we have your email — notify you directly. Continuing to use Abyss after a change means you accept the updated policy.
